How long do car accidents affect my insurance rates?
I have heard that accidents and tickets will affect car insurance rates for five years. I was in an accident four years ago, that was determined to be my fault. Now, my (old) insurance company just settled this claim. Is this going to affect my rates for five years from the settlement date or from the date of the accident?
crizzy u, I recommend an online insurance quote. It’s free and quick to do. http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Auto-Insurance-Quote.html

How to drive a car home when you’ve just bought it?
I’m interested in buying a car but I dont have the money to buy the insurance yet. My mum has fully comp insurance on her car and I was wondering if she would be covered to drive it back to my house until I can afford insurance? How do people actually buy cars and drive them home before buying insurance? And i will be keeping it in the garage until I buy insurance.
Most fully comp policies allow the insured driver to drive any vehicle on a third party liabilty. In this case your mum can drive the car home.

Car insurance help?
What is the best way to buy insurance online. I wanted to compare policies before buying and also wanted to find out the different type of coverages offered such as third party etc.
Webites will be helpful and also if possible answer in detail. Thanks!!!
Unless you are used to reading policies, it’s not a good idea for you as an amateur to try reading policies to compare coverages. Most companies do NOT list their policy forms online, so you’d have to get the quotes first, then ask the carriers to mail you a copy of the policy.
“Third Party” isn’t a coverage. Again, amateur lingo is best interpreted and defined by a long sit-down with an agetn licensed in your state.
You will most likely NOT find a do-it-yourself policy analysis website, as things vary too much from state to state.
One more warning – any quote that you get on an online rating site, isn’t “valid”. In other words, once you decide to go with that policy, THEN they “verify” the quote with credit check, motor vehicle record check, accident history verification, vehicle id verification, and licensed household member check, and most of the time you will be up-rated. In other words, it’s kinda a waste of time.
